Voyage of Life
On the eleventh ember,
the seventh night
A soul did render
and irides saw light.
From stride to step,
And step to leap
from pride to help
And help to lead.
With every mile I go
and every turn I take;
several seas to row
few feasts to make.
Many dogs to meet
and women to like.
Through frost and heat,
A hundred hills to hike.
Greedy gambles to bet,
Iridescent impossibilities.
Twelve tigers to pet;
half a legion of lies.
Worthy soils to spade.
Seven sins to burn.
Plenty ponds to wade
And many men to mourn.
Until that very day
when the dawn meets dusk
unto the last ray
Out this mortal husk.
