Neural-network methods for recognizing and classifying musical instruments from audio.
I worked on automatic musical-instrument recognition and classification using audio features and neural networks.
The research used mel-frequency cepstral coefficients to represent instrument audio, exploring both deep neural networks and convolutional neural networks for classification.
The associated article, Exploiting Cepstral Coefficients and CNN for Efficient Musical Instrument Classification, was published in Evolving Systems in 2023.
